Mumbai, January 10, 2024: A seminar on the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) was held on the first day of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

During the seminar, Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General Mumbai, Mike Hankey, remarked that he has never witnessed such warm relations between India and America as they currently share. Frequent bilateral visits reinforce the ties between the two countries, contributing to their strengthened relationship. India’s advance in the business and social sectors will be crucial and will play an integral role in guiding the world during this Amrit Kaal.

Furthermore, the development in defense, space, and semiconductor sectors underscores the importance of the partnership between India and the U.S. in strengthening the bond between the citizens of both countries. Mr. Hankey also mentioned that India and the U.S. share significant business relations, with America expressing eagerness to be a partner in India's space development. Changes in visa regulations have resulted in over 2.5 lakh Indian students studying and shaping their careers in the U.S., he added.

Representatives of multinational companies working in India and the U.S. participated in the seminar, discussing the changes that have taken place in various fields such as education, manufacturing, health, artificial intelligence, and space, contributing to the strengthened relations between the two countries.

Amit Singh, CEO of Adani Green Energy, briefed about the world's largest renewable energy park in the field of renewable energy at Khavda in Kutch, utilizing ultramodern technology.

In the seminar, Shri Anand Ramamoorthy, Vice President and Managing Director of Micron India discussed in detail the development of the semiconductor sector in India and the country's development journey through the skills available. The theme of Vibrant Gujarat 2024, "Gateway to the Future," will be realized through the advancement of semiconductors and artificial intelligence in India. The prospect of Gujarat emerging as a hub of semiconductor production is being visualized, highlighting the strategic goals of the Gujarat government.

Alexander Slater, Managing Director of USIBC, in his welcome address, briefed about the evolving relationship between India and the U.S. Dr. Dinesh Reddy Musukula, Director of Reddy's Laboratories, USC Marshall Mr. Randall R. Kendrick, Founding Exec of the Global Supply Chain Institute, Director Dr. Nick Vyas, and Shri Jagdish Mitra, Chief Strategy Officer of Tech Mahindra, participated in this seminar. The seminar was moderated by Shri Rupa Mitra, Deputy Managing Director of USIBC.
