Mumbai, 05 November, 2026: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) made a massive single-day net purchase of Rs14,974.68 crore (Rs150 Billion) on Thursday, November 5, 2026. This massive inflow marks the largest single-day purchase by foreign investors in over a year, triggering a powerful market recovery and sending the benchmark Nifty 50 up by 2.4% to close above 24,536.
FIIs bought shares worth Rs31,797.86 crore and sold shares worth Rs16,823.18 crore, resulting in a net cash inflow of nearly Rs15,000 crore.
Reversal of 2026 Trends: The surge follows a period where FIIs pulled upwards of Rs90,000 crore out of Indian markets across September and October combined.
Substantial AI-trade outflows (estimated at $45 billion) from tech-heavy markets like South Korea and Taiwan prompted funds to reallocate into structurally diversified economic zones like India.
The Nifty IT index closed at 32,837.85, up 2.42% (+775.95 points) tracking the broader Dalal Street rally where the Sensex surged over 2,000 points and the Nifty reclaimed 24,500.
Frontline Blue-Chips Lead: The buying favored large, liquid frontline stocks. Major gainers over a 6-session winning streak included Bajaj Finance (↑17%), Shriram Finance (↑16%), and Reliance Industries (↑13.4%).
