Mumbai, 08 December 2025: Following SEBI’s approval, Areion Asset Management Company (AAMC), an AIF arm of Areion Group, launched its Scheme IV under Category I Special Situation Fund, and swiftly raised commitment of more than 25% of the total corpus of Rs500 crore. Backed by strong interest from UHNIs/prominent family offices, the fund is expected to achieve its second phase of raising commitments by end of FY 2025-26. The fund has already commenced capital deployment across secured stressed-asset opportunities.
Areion AMC entered the AIF space in 2019 and has since built a strong multi-fund platform, successfully launching a Category I fund and a Category II fund. Since inception till 30th November, 2025, Areion AMC has deployed around Rs. 3000 crores in special situation assets and expects to deploy more than Rs. 2000 Crores in the forthcoming 3 – 6 months. Areion AMC also expects to start operation from the Gift City branch early next quarter. With the current funding supported by marquee anchor investor and sponsor commitments well above the required threshold, Areion AMC expects to complete the final close well ahead of the mandated timeline, further cementing its position as a leading force in India’s stressed-asset investment landscape.
Speaking on the development, Mr. Manish Lalwani, Founder and Managing Director of Areion Group, quoted, “As the economy expands and credit demand increases, efficient resolution becomes vital to unlocking capital and strengthening the financial system. This investment reinforces our security-first approach and enhances our ability to deliver structured, legally robust solutions that create real economic value. It positions Areion to scale responsibly while contributing meaningfully to India’s broader goals of financial stability and sustainable growth.”
Mr. Ajay Mehta, CEO of Areion Asset Management, shared his views saying, “The anchor commitment is a reflection of investor confidence in our disciplined, compliant and highly structured investment approach. The Category I Special Situation Fund offers a compelling avenue for UHNIs/family offices to participate in the secured special situation asset space, an area that continues to deliver attractive, risk-adjusted returns. This commitment reinforces our mission to build a platform that combines prudence, transparency and performance in equal measure.”
