The bank has Introduced this facility across its UPI QR Merchant Network in India

Mumbai, 26 August, 2026: Bank of Baroda, India’s International Bank, today announced the launch of UPI Global Reverse Acceptance, enabling international tourists, overseas Indians and foreign wallet/payment application users from eligible countries to make seamless international QR payments at Bank of Baroda UPI QR merchants across India using their home-country banking or payment applications. The initiative extends international QR payment acceptance across the Bank’s merchant network, enhancing payment convenience for international visitors while giving Bank of Baroda merchants access to a wider customer base.
In line with NPCI International’s vision of enabling global interoperability for digital payments, UPI Global Reverse Acceptance facilitates cross-border Person-to-Merchant (P2M) transactions in India for international visitors from countries participating in NPCI International’s Global Payments ecosystem. These include major international corridors such as Singapore, UAE, Nepal, Bhutan, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, USA, Qatar and France, among others.
Visitors can simply scan Bank of Baroda UPI QR code using their home-country banking or payment application and complete transactions instantly. It reduces the need to carry cash or exchange foreign currency and offers a convenient payment experience while travelling in India.
