Mumbai, September 14, 2025: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry visited GIFT City
on Sunday to comprehensively study and understand various aspects of India’s first operational smart
city and international financial services hub. The committee members were briefed on the GIFT City’s

regulatory frameworks to attract global businesses in finance, technology, and allied sectors. The
members also witnessed the GIFT City’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, such as the district cooling
system, automated waste collection system, and underground utility tunnel, which exemplify global
standards in smart urban development.
