CBI Arrests Absconder Ex Bank Cashier


Arrest made in coin fraud / embezzlement case of Rs. 11 Core

Mumbai, April 11, 2025: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an absconder accused Rajesh Kumar Meena then Cashier/Cash Officer, State Bank of India, BO, Mehandipur Balaji, Distt. Karauli(Rajasthan). He is main accused in coin fraud / embezzlement case of Rs. 11 Core (Approx.), as per the press release issued by the CBI.

CBI had re-registered a case on 13.04.2022 taking over investigation of FIR No. 370/2021 of Police Station Todabhim, District Karauli (Rajasthan) against Unknown person(s) in compliance of the order dated 04.03.2022 of the Hon'ble High Court of Judicature for Rajasthan, Jaipur Bench,  passed in the matter of S.B. Criminal Writ Petition of State Bank of India, through its Controller, Controlling Office, Region Sawai Madhopur V/s. State of Rajasthan. 

A charge sheet was filed by CBI on 08.04.2025 against said accused and other Bank Officers/Officials before the competent Hon’ble Court for offences under IPC and PC Act. Further Investigation was kept open against said accused Rajesh Kumar Meena and others.

Meanwhile, main accused, was absconding / hiding since 2022 to evade the criminal proceedings and never appeared in the investigation. After continuous surveillance and strenuous efforts, accused Rajesh Kumar Meena was arrested by CBI  on 09.04.2025 from Village Bhesina, Tehsil Weir, District Bharatpur (Rajasthan) and  was produced before the  Hon’ble Court  of Special Judge, CBI Cases-01, Jaipur. The  Hon’ble Court sent  said accused to 5 days’ Police  Custody for further  interrogation/investigation.
