CBI Recovers Huge Assets in Possession of Arrested ED Of NHIDCL


CBI has recovered substantial cash and documents relating to investment in his name as well as his family member

Mumbai, October 20, 2025: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at the office and residential premises of Executive Director and Regional Officer, National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Regional Office, Guwahati, who was arrested by CBI on 14.10.2025, while accepting a bribe of Rs.10 Lakh from a private person.

Subsequent to searches at Guwahati, Ghaziabad and Imphal, CBI has recovered substantial cash and documents relating to investment in his name as well as his family member, including:

  • Cash of Rs. 2.62 Crores
  • Documents pertaining to investment in immovable assets including 9 premium apartment units, 1 Premium Office Space & 3 residential plots in Delhi NCR
  • Documents pertaining to investment in immovable assets including 1 premium apartment & 1 residential plot in Bangalore.
  • Documents pertaining to investment in immovable assets including 4 premium apartments & 2 residential plots in Guwahati.
  • Documents relating to acquisition of 2 homestead plots and 1 agriculture land in Imphal West.
  • Documents pertaining to possession/investment in 6 high end luxury vehicles.
  • 2 luxury watches worth Lakhs.
  • 100 Gm Silver Bar.

Most of the properties purchased in the name of the accused public servant and his family members seem to be undervalued, which are under verification.

CBI had registered the instant case, based on source information, against the said accused and two representatives of a private company. CBI laid a trap on 14.10.2025 and caught the accused Executive Director and one private person while the public servant was accepting bribe of Rs10 Lakh from the private person for issuance of favourable extension of time (EOT) and Completion Certificate of the work performed by the private company pertaining to the contract of 4-Laning of National Highway-37between Demow to End of Moran Bypass besides other contracts in the State of Assam.

Both the accused persons were produced before the court of Spl. Judge CBI Assam, Guwahati and remanded to 03 days Police Custody.
