Mumbai, June 14, 2025: Following the Ahmedabad plane crash, a joint press conference was addressed today by Relief Commissioner Shri Alok Pandey and Additional Superintendent of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital Shri Rajnish Patel to provide information on the relief, rescue, and identification operations undertaken by the state government.
Shri Rajnish Patel stated that the highly sensitive process of DNA matching is being carried out with utmost seriousness and speed.
By Saturday evening, DNA samples of a total of 11 deceased individuals had been successfully matched. Among them, one mortal remains has been identified and respectfully handed over to the family members.
According to Relief Commissioner Shri Alok Pandey, the state government has contacted the families of all the deceased from 18 districts of Gujarat who lost their lives in the accident.
A dedicated team has been assigned to each victim’s family. This team includes a senior officer, police personnel, and a professional counselor.
This team will accompany the mortal remains to the deceased's home and provide all necessary assistance. Counseling support has also been arranged for families in need of emotional support.
The government call center is also in continuous contact with families to resolve their queries.
As soon as the mortal remains reach their native place, the local Talati will immediately issue an inheritance/succession certificate to ensure that families do not face any difficulties. This step will simplify the process of obtaining inheritance and other government documents.
Families of 11 foreign nationals who died in the crash have been contacted through their respective countries’ embassies, and necessary procedures for DNA sample matching have been initiated.
In particular, for the British citizens, continuous coordination is underway with representatives of the British government to ensure that the mortal remains are handed over to their families smoothly.
The health of the Diu resident who survived this crash is now stable, and they are responding well to treatment and recovering quickly.
The state government stands firmly with all the bereaved families in this tragic time and is committed to providing every possible assistance to them.
