Programme organised to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi

Mumbai, 17th September 2026: Union MoS (Ind. Charge) Science & Technology; Earth Sciences; MoS PMO,PP/ DoPT, Atomic Energy, Space Dr Jitendra Singh today joined the “Aashirwad Ka Diya” programme in the backdrop of majestic Arabian Sea at the #Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT). Young start-ups, students, researchers, innovators, beneficiaries of various youth-related schemes and science academicians came together on the occasion of the birthday of PM Narendra Modi.
Mumbai Port Authority organised the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ lamp lighting ceremony at the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT) today under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The ceremony was organised to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Beneficiaries associated with the initiative participated in the programme and graced the occasion.
India’s first passenger terminal of its kind for national and international sea travel, the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal which was inaugurated by PM Modi ji about two years ago, is one of the many state-of- the- art monumental marvels created by this government over the last twelve years.
Dr. M. Angamuthu, IAS, Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, presided over the ceremony in the presence of senior officials, officers and staff of Mumbai Port Authority. The lamp was lit by the beneficiaries as a symbolic gesture of blessings, goodwill, service and welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. Angamuthu, IAS, Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, said: “The ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ ceremony conveys a simple yet profound message of Seva. On the auspicious occasion of the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Mumbai Port Authority is honoured to be part of this initiative along with our beneficiaries. Their presence lends deeper meaning to the occasion and reaffirms our collective responsibility to serve with sincerity, compassion and commitment towards Viksit Bharat.”
The Mumbai International Cruise Terminal, India’s premier cruise terminal, hosted the programme as part of Mumbai Port Authority’s outreach under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, Assumes Additional Charge as Deputy Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority
Meanwhile, Shri Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, assumed additional charge as Deputy Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) today, i.e., 17 September 2026.
Shri Singh is presently serving as Deputy Chairperson, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA). He brings with him rich experience in port administration, railway operations, logistics planning and commercial management. Prior to his assignment at JNPA, he served as Deputy Chief Operations Manager, Central Railway, and has held several key operational and commercial positions in Indian Railways.
On his assumption of charge, Shri Singh was welcomed by Dr. M. Angamuthu, IAS, Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, along with Heads of Departments and senior officials.
Mumbai Port Authority also placed on record its sincere appreciation for Shri Adesh Titarmare, IAS, who completed his tenure as Deputy Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority on 16 September 2026.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. M. Angamuthu, IAS, Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, said: “On behalf of Mumbai Port Authority, I extend a warm welcome to Shri Ravish Kumar Singh, IRTS, as Deputy Chairperson with additional charge. His wide experience in railway operations, logistics and port administration will be valuable as Mumbai Port continues to advance its initiatives in cargo operations, energy infrastructure, cruise tourism, marina development, sustainability and city-port interface projects. I also place on record our deep appreciation for the valuable contribution made by Shri Adesh Titarmare, IAS, during his tenure as Deputy Chairperson.”
Shri Singh’s additional charge comes at a significant juncture when Mumbai Port Authority is progressing major initiatives under Master Plan 2047 and Eastern Waterfront Transformation, spanning port operations, cruise infrastructure, marine tourism, energy infrastructure, green port initiatives and public-facing maritime projects.
