BCAS Celebrates 77th Founding Day with Distinguished Industry Leaders at Mumbai Event

Mumbai, July 7, 2025: The Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society (BCAS), one of India's premier professional accounting bodies, marked its 77th Founding Day with a prestigious celebration at the Garware Club House in Mumbai.
The ceremony was presided over by CA Anand Bathiya, the President of BCAS alongside CA Zubin Billimoria, the newly appointed President of BCAS and other distinguished office bearers of the society. The event witnessed strong participation from the Chartered Accountancy fraternity, underlining the continued relevance and growth of the 77-year-old institution.
The highlight of the evening was a keynote address delivered by Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, Chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Shri Pandey said, “Chartered Accountants often serve as a bridge between company management, auditors and regulators, ensuring that the principles of fairness, independence, and accountability are upheld in both spirit and practice.”
He further added, “Apart from acting as the first line of defence against financial irregularities, you have a critical responsibility to ensure that corporate governance is not reduced to a checklist.”
Adding contemporary relevance to the proceedings, Shri Nithin Kamath, Founder and CEO of Zerodha, India's largest retail stockbroker, participated in an engaging fireside chat with CA Vaibhav Manek.
