Mumbai, April 4, 2025: The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue Rs10 and Rs500 denomination Banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series bearing the signature of Shri Sanjay Malhotra, Governor. The design of these notes is similar in all respects to Rs10 and Rs500 banknotes in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. All banknotes in the denomination of Rs10 issued by the Reserve Bank in the past will continue to be legal tender. All banknotes in the denomination of Rs500 in Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series issued by the Reserve Bank in the past will also continue to be legal tender.
