Mumbai, June 5, 2025: The Ld. Court of Spl. Judge, CBI, Court No. 04, Lucknow today i.e. 05.06.2025 sentenced two accused namely, Bhupinder Singh Bhatiyani, the then Officer (Scale-I), PNB, Usmanpur Branch, Barabanki to 3 years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs1,10,000/- and .Nitin Tiwari, a private person with 06 months SI and fine of Rs. 10,000/-.in a case of bribery, as per a press release issued by the CBI today.
CBI had registered the instant case on 08.10.2013 against accused Bhupinder Singh Bhatiyani, on allegations that the accused demanded an illegal gratification of Rs. 5,000/- from the complainant for enhancing the KCC Loan limit from existing Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 75,000/-.
After investigation, Charge sheet was filed by CBI on 07.12.2013 against accused Bhupinder Singh Bhatiyani, the then Officer (Scale-I), PNB, Usmanpur Branch, Barabanki and Nitin Tiwari, Private person.
The Court, after trial, convicted the accused persons and sentenced them to imprisonment.
