Mr Dibyajyoti Pattanaik elected as Vice Chairperson of Microfinance Industry Network

Mumbai, July 4, 2025: Microfinance Industry Network (MFIN), the premier industry association representing RBI-regulated entities, comprising of NBFC-MFI, Banks, Small Finance Banks (SFBs), & NBFCs and a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recognized Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO), announced the appointment of Mr. Vineet Chattree as Chairperson and Mr. Dibyajyoti Pattanaik as Vice Chairperson of the MFIN Board at its 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Gurgaon on 4th July 2025.
Vineet Chattree, new Chairperson
Mr. Vineet Chattree, the new Chairperson, is currently serving as the Managing Director at Svatantra Microfin Pvt Ltd, while Mr. Dibyajyoti Pattanaik is Director at Annapurna Microfinance Pvt Ltd.
The MFIN Board and members welcomed three new members to the MFIN Governing Board: Mr. Baskar Babu Ramachandran, MD & CEO, Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd, Mr. Krishnadas B Nair, EVP & Business Head - Microfinance, Axis Bank Ltd and Mr. Gyan Mohan, Director & CEO, Adi Chitragupta Finance Ltd, who joins as the Small NBFC-MFI representative
The Board also welcomed two new Independent Directors – Ms Veena Mankar, Founder & Director, Swadhaar FinAccess and Mr Saurav Sinha, Ex-Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
MFIN also extended its sincere appreciation to the outgoing Board members - Mr. Abhisheka Kumar, Co-Founder & MD, Sindhuja Microcredit Pvt Ltd; Mr. Ankush Golechha, Director, Aviral Finance Private Ltd; and Mr. George K. John, Executive Director, ESAF Small Finance Bank Lt for their dedicated service and valuable contributions.
On the occasion, Mr Vineet Chattree, the new Chairperson said, “It is an honour to take on this role at a defining moment for the microfinance sector. The industry has consistently shown purpose and impact, growing stronger with time. With supportive regulations, a favourable macroeconomic climate, and continued government backing, we are well-placed to deepen financial inclusion.”
Speaking on assuming the role of Vice Chairperson, Mr Dibyajyoti Pattanaik said, “I’m privileged to take on the role of Vice Chairperson at MFIN during these challenging times, when microfinance sector is facing structural and operational challenges. As the industry scales its outreach, it has the power to transform lives, especially for women and underserved communities. My focus will be on fostering both industry growth and deeper inclusive impact.”
