Mumbai, 18 October, 2026: The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has launched NPS Central (www.npscentral.in), a unified digital platform enabling subscribers of the National Pension System (NPS) to enrol, invest and manage their accounts through a single interface. Launched on NPS Diwas, October 1, 2026, the platform has been developed and is jointly managed by the three Central Recordkeeping Agencies (CRAs) under NPS, namely Protean, KFintech and CAMS.

NPS Central brings all three CRAs onto a common digital interface, simplifying access to pension services across an ecosystem comprising CRAs, Pension Funds (PFs) and Points of Presence (PoPs). The initiative marks a significant step towards a more integrated, accessible and subscriber-centric digital pension ecosystem.

Simplified access to NPS services

Existing subscribers can log in using their registered mobile number and date of birth, authenticated through an OTP, without having to remember their Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN). A consolidated dashboard enables subscribers to view their NPS accounts and investment portfolios across all three CRAs.

Subscribers can contribute to existing schemes, opt for new schemes, review scheme features, returns and charges, update profile details, download account statements and track the status of contributions made through various modes. They can also raise grievances through the Pension Sahayak portal, accessible through a link provided on NPS Central.

For prospective subscribers, the platform offers AI-assisted onboarding, with CKYC and DigiLocker available as KYC options, along with an AI-enabled assistant to address queries. Applicants can explore and compare investment schemes, review scheme performance, and select a Pension Fund. Upon successful registration, they receive access to their electronic PRAN (e-PRAN) and essential account services. Onboarding charges on NPS Central are NIL, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Integration of NPS Swasthya

NPS Central also facilitates registration for NPS Swasthya, which combines a dedicated investment corpus with a super top-up health insurance arrangement, extending access to healthcare-related services within the broader digital pension ecosystem.

Phased expansion of services

PFRDA envisages progressively expanding NPS Central with additional account management and subscriber servicing facilities. Planned enhancements include changes to investment choices and Pension Funds, Loan Against NPS, SIP mandates, onboarding and maintenance of NPS Vatsalya accounts, onboarding of corporates, Re-KYC and services relating to NPS Tier II accounts, along with other subscriber-related functionalities.

The platform will also facilitate integration with NPS ecosystem participants and existing NPS digital touchpoints, enabling them to offer unified NPS services through their respective channels. API specifications for integration are being made available on the NPS Central website.

Retirement planning is a journey that spans decades and requires sustained engagement with the pension system. Through NPS Central, PFRDA seeks to bring NPS services together on a unified digital platform, making them more accessible, convenient and seamless for subscribers at every stage of their retirement planning journey. This initiative reaffirms PFRDA’s commitment to subscriber convenience, transparency and ease of investment, while advancing a more integrated and subscriber-centric pension ecosystem.
