Mumbai, July 3, 2026: Speaking at the Cybersecurity 360 Summit organised by CII, Shri S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, said that cybersecurity requires constant vigilance and organisations cannot afford to take it lightly. He further emphasised that industry must allocate optimal resources to cybersecurity, ensure security by design, support domestic cybersecurity products, and report cyber incidents to CERT-In to strengthen collective defence and information sharing.

While speaking on the evolving global cyber threat landscape, Neehar Pathare, Co-Chairman, CII Cybersecurity Taskforce & MD CEO & CIO 63SATS Cybertech said, “It is clear that we are no longer just discussing an IT challenge, we are discussing the core foundation of our national and economic sovereignty in this era of accelerating digital transformation. Our threat vectors have evolved from isolated software vulnerabilities to sophisticated AI-driven attacks. Proactive threat detection and unwavering commitment to an integrated zero touch model is where we are looking at."

"We need to place before the international community how restrictions on critical technologies directly affect our developmental objectives and whether we can realistically achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 if technology is denied, restricted or used as a geopolitical deterrent. This challenge requires India to articulate a clear national position on the role of technology in achieving a developed India." -Ambassador Asoke Kumar Mukerji, Former Ambassador & Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations.

"When we talk about sovereignty with regard to cyber, we need to understand sovereignty is not just about running a model. It is about sovereignty at hardware scale, at the middle tier and the stack that's running on top of it. It is about owning the foundational models and subsequently talking about the harnesses." - Dr Amit Sharma, Additional Director General & Advisor (Cyber) O/o Secretary, Department of Defence (R&D), Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

"Addressing cyber security requires a 360-degree response scenario for implementation as well as securing the infrastructure. The pillars are technology, governance, cybercrime and geopolitics. As technology advances and everything becomes interconnected, securing our digital infrastructure requires a comprehensive and coordinated approach.” -Dr Gulshan Rai, Chairman, ClI Cybersecurity Taskforce & Former National Cyber Security Coordinator (NSCS) & Former Director General CERT-In
