Mumbai, October 7, 2025: “Most of the future economic growth will be driven by technologies and digital media, hence it is imperative to develop related skills within the coming generations,” said Mr Purushottam Kaushik, Head, Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution India, World Economic Forum India Liaison Office, said at the 6th CII Global Education Conclave in Mumbai.

“To truly prepare for the future, we must reimagine our education and skilling systems to create a generation that doesn’t just use technology—but shapes it. The strength of India@2047 will lie in how effectively we connect academia, industry, and innovation to build our technological destiny,” he added.

The CII Global Education Conclave focused on the theme "Skill First Education: Redesigning Education for future readiness", bringing together leaders from government, academia, and industry to deliberate on building a future-ready education ecosystem for India.

Mr Rajan Navani, Chairman, CII Council on India @100 and Chairman and MD of Jetline Group of Companies (Jetsynthesis), in his address mentioned that “Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is driving India’s national development through a “skills-first” approach. It traces the journey from CII’s 2007 “India@60” initiative. He also emphasized on India’s long-term vision—from India@75 to Viksit Bharat (India@100)—and stressed that skill development, lifelong learning, and reimagined education systems are essential for India to become a developed, inclusive, and innovative economy. With rapid technological change making skills obsolete every few years, lifelong reskilling is crucial. Global examples like Singapore and Finland offer inspiration, but India must evolve its own large-scale, inclusive model”.

Mr Bharat Aggarwal, Chairman, CII WR Taskforce on Education and President, Vishwakarma University in his addressed highlighted the urgent need to align education with evolving job and skill demands in a rapidly changing world. He further said that “As technology shifts from being a tool to a mindset, students must be trained to adapt, think digitally, and apply knowledge practically. Despite long-standing awareness of the need for stronger industry–academia collaboration, progress has been limited—especially in the MSME sector, which needs greater motivation and support to engage with educational institutions”. He also mentioned that the focus must move from job outcomes to creating the right curriculum, content, and industry exposure”
