CBI Registers Case Against 3 Accused Of Postal Department


Allegations are of demanding Rs 25 lakh bribe for appointment of 10 contingent labourers as MTS

Mumbai, May 13, 2024: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against 03 accused including, Assistant Supdt. of Posts and 02 MTS, all officials of O/o the Postmaster General, Hyderabad Sorting Division, Headquarters Region, Hyderabad on a complaint, as per a press release issued by the CBI.

It was alleged that Officials of Divisional Office and Circle Office to the Postmaster General, Headquarters Region, Hyderabad demanded bribe of Rs25 lakhs from two accused Contingent Labourers (CL) for appointing ten Contingent Labourers as MTS.

It was further alleged that one of the accused MTS had given bribe of Rs. 2,00,000/- on 16.07.2022 for himself and Rs. 1,00,000/- for another accused MTS on 26.07.2022 to accused Assistant Supdt. of Posts at her residence and additional bribe Rs.50,000/- was to be paid for the second MTS later.

CBI conducted searches at 3 places in Hyderabad which led to recovery of the incriminating documents.

Investigation is continuing.
