Mumbai, 18 January 2026: Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis arrived in Zurich today for the World Economic Forum. “In the time to come, Maharashtra will emerge as a state with trillion-dollar economy in India. Taking the wealth of our own religion, homeland and language given by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, let us take India on the path of development”, appealed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while accepting the welcome of the Brihan Maharashtra Mandal in Zurich, Switzerland. Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis proudly referred to these Marathi brothers & sisters as the ambassadors of Maharashtra abroad.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, infrastructure was created in the country, and Maharashtra is ahead in creating the most iconic infrastructure, he said, "We are transforming Mumbai. There will be some more ambitious changes in the future. Every year we return to Marathi Mumbai, we will see Mumbai changing every year. In 2030, Mumbai will be better than the capital city of the developed nation in the world in the next five years. Not only Mumbai, this transformation will also be seen in Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nagpur, Nashik and Kolhapur. We have picked up the pace of development in a very good way. Maharashtra will not stop now, as per the motto, Maharashtra will move forward very quickly.”
Meanwhile, Indian Ambassador to Switzerland Mridul Kumar extended a warm welcome to CM Devendra Fadnavis as he landed at Zurich, Switzerland.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu met CM Devendra Fadnavis on his arrival at Zurich Airport in Switzerland. They congratulated CM Fadnavis on recent victory in the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Elections.
